I have recently observed that in this busy course of life, people have started ignoring the newspapers which hit their doors before they get up. It is reduced to a pile that goes to the garbage, most of the times. It is an indication of how times are changing and the way people have altered their mediums. It does make you think, right? After the age where white pages would rule every balcony and streets and bus stops would appear white from far! The evolution of Social media marketing and social networks is big in India. And we have been too busy to observe it but we haven’t stopped ourselves to joining the flow Strange. Let us discuss a few reasons why social media is running a gear ahead.

Portability:

You are in rush. You need to catch your train else you again miss out on a meeting. But wait! You are not yet abreast with the world. But you already have enough bags in your hand and the bundle of newspapers is now a burden. What do you do then? Well, now-a-days, people don’t bother to carry newspapers. They are much inclined towards the service on their mobiles or the pages on their computer desktops. And why not? It comes at your own convenience, starts and ends at your touch and does not pester you to go through whole of the editor’s frustration on paper.

Attention sourcing:

You come across various kinds of news in a day. Who won the elections, who slapped whom, who won the toss, who lost his divorce case, and other such ‘useful’ news. On television you do not have an option to jump over any issue that does not suit your interest. You have to wait for the conclusion of the current news to view the next. This hassle is erased in social media. See what you want, ignore which you don’t.

Voice:

News channels use voices to proclaim the depth of news and the intensity is further aggravated by the word ‘live’. Maybe they intend to uproot the audience from their couches and start protesting on their windows. They are just too hyped. The social media offers blogs with voices that speak differently but at least make some sense.

Explanation:

You can surf different sites and blogs to analyze the news if you wish to dive in its depth. Social media marketing has enabled magazines and other such editorial contents to reach them effectively. Find people with similar interests, connect, share and know every possible thing. This personal interaction lacks on television or papers where it is one-sided. You also have expert’s views on those which further help to understand if it is a biased opinion or an unbiased one.
